The brief: a US supplier that shows its proof

Solix Labs sells research peptides from the United States to laboratories and qualified researchers. The store had to do the convincing itself, which left three problems to solve.

01

Check every visitor before the catalogue

No product could show until a visitor confirmed they are 21 or over and who they buy for.

02

A certificate for the exact batch

Researchers needed the report for their own lot, not one report per compound.

03

Pages that read as research material

Each product had to state its form, testing and regulatory standing, with bulk pricing easy to see.

Researchers also needed to find compounds by research focus: tissue and repair, growth and secretagogue, metabolic, longevity and cellular, copper and skin, immune, and blends and stacks.

How we solved it

The three problems from the brief, and what we built for each one. Everything below is live on solix-labs.com today.

01 Age and research use

An age and research check over every page

A verification panel covers the store until the visitor answers it. It sets out the research use only terms in full and links to the Terms and Conditions.

  • One button confirms 21 or over, the other leaves the site
  • An organisation type is required first: academic, laboratory or private research
  • Not for human or veterinary use, and not a food, drug, cosmetic or supplement
  • Remembered for 30 days, so returning researchers go straight in

02 A certificate for every lot

One COA lookup for every batch in stock

Each batch has its own card with the product, dose and lot number, on one page linked from the main menu.

  • Type a compound, dose or lot number and the cards narrow as you type
  • Certificates open as a PDF in a viewer on the page, with no new tab
  • Lot numbers follow one pattern, such as SLX-BPC-2604-01
  • The page names the test method: UPLC and mass spectrometry

03 Research material

Product pages that state the material before the price

Every product opens with its research use only status and the facts a lab checks first. This is the BPC-157 10mg page. Select a marker to see what each part of the page does.

Form Lyophilised powder in a 3 mL vial

Classification Laboratory research only, not validated for clinical, diagnostic or therapeutic use

Testing Independent analysis of every batch for identity, purity and consistency

BPC-157 10mg product page: research use rows, regulatory notice and the bulk savings box

  • Research use rowsChemical form, vial volume, RUO classification and third party testing, set as labelled rows under the price on every product.
  • Regulatory noticeStates that Solix is a chemical supplier, not a compounding pharmacy or outsourcing facility under Sections 503A or 503B.
  • Bulk savings5% off from 3 vials, 15% from 5 and 25% from 10, with the price per vial worked out for each tier.

Custom development on WordPress and WooCommerce

Nine features we coded for this store, and 9 CSS snippets that restyle WordPress and WooCommerce to match the design.

Coded features

Built for this store

Custom code written for this store on top of WordPress and WooCommerce.

  • Age gate, COA search, PDF viewer and bulk savings
Custom PHP and JavaScript. The four features shown in How we solved it, above.
  • Terms before checkout
Custom PHP and AJAX on WooCommerce. Checkout stays locked until the Shipping and Order Terms box in the cart is ticked, and the server remembers it.
  • Terms box placement
Custom JavaScript on WooCommerce. Keeps one terms box at the end of the cart column after every cart update, with its heading fixed above the scrolling text.
  • Coupon in the order summary
Custom PHP and JavaScript on WooCommerce. A coupon field inside Your order at checkout that applies the code without a reload.
  • Payment instructions
Custom PHP on WooCommerce. A box under the bank payment option with the payee details and a rule to use only the order number as the reference.
  • Cart buttons
Custom JavaScript on WooCommerce. Moves Update cart next to the coupon field, so both cart actions sit in one row.

Styled with CSS

Matched to the design

Where WordPress and WooCommerce pages were restyled to look like the rest of the store.

  • Top bar and trust strip
Custom CSS on WordPress. A scrolling strip of testing standards and a line with free US shipping over $250, both on a black to teal gradient.
  • Homepage
Custom CSS on WordPress. Category cards with a teal bar on hover, researcher cards that lift, and a dark catalogue section with white product cards.
  • FAQ accordion
Custom CSS on WordPress. Questions that open in place, on the homepage and the FAQ page.
  • Type
Custom CSS on WordPress. One set of Sora type for body, headings, labels and buttons, with sizes left to the theme.
  • Buttons
Custom CSS on WooCommerce. Teal Add to cart buttons that turn black on hover, and black buttons that turn teal with an arrow nudge.
  • Plugins we set up
Configured, not coded: Advanced Coupons, YITH Wishlist, Contact Form 7, WPForms, W3 Total Cache and Jetpack.

Questions about the Solix Labs build

Who built the Solix Labs website?

Solix Labs was designed and built by Aventus Digital on WordPress and WooCommerce, including the catalogue by research focus, the age and research use gate, the COA lookup, the product pages with bulk savings and the cart and checkout steps. See more of our peptide website work.

Does Aventus provide legal or regulatory compliance advice?

No. We are a web agency, not a law firm. We build compliance-aware architecture, such as Research Use Only messaging, age and researcher gates, careful product language and checkout acknowledgements, based on years of working in this niche. Final responsibility for regulatory compliance sits with the store owner, and we always recommend getting independent legal advice for your market.

How much does a peptide store like this cost?

Our e-commerce stores start from £399, with a mid-tier option at £599. A full custom build like Solix Labs, with an age and research use gate, a searchable COA lookup, bulk pricing and custom cart and checkout work, falls into our Flagship tier from £1,999. Full details are on our pricing page.

Can you build a store like this for the UK market?

Yes. Solix Labs is built for the US, but we are a UK agency and adapt every build to its market. For UK stores, that means product language shaped around MHRA and ASA/CAP rules rather than FDA wording, plus guidance on payment processors that accept research peptide sellers.
