The brief: a research peptide store buyers can verify

Iron Rack Labs sells peptides as laboratory reference material to researchers in the United States. Every page had to support that position, and it left three problems to solve before launch.

01

Verify the buyer before the catalogue

Visitors had to state their research setting before they could see any products.

02

A certificate that matches the vial

Each vial carries a lot number, and the researcher needed the certificate for that exact lot.

03

Explain the compound without making claims

Product pages could only describe chemistry, testing and handling, never effects.

The catalogue also held 11 compounds and blends, which researchers look for by molecule class: short, mid and long chain peptides, modified peptides, blends, reference standards and small molecules.

How we solved it

The three problems from the brief, and what we built for each one. Everything below is live on ironracklabs.com today.

01 Verify the buyer

A researcher gate before the catalogue

Every first visit opens a gate. The catalogue stays hidden until the visitor picks their research setting and confirms two statements.

  • Seven researcher types, from university laboratories to contract research organisations
  • Age of 18 or over confirmed
  • Laboratory research use only accepted, not for human or veterinary use
  • A Leave site button for anyone who does not qualify
  • Remembered for 30 days, so returning researchers go straight in
  • The same research use confirmation comes back at checkout, above Place order

02 A certificate for every lot

Lot records on the product, a library behind them

Each product shows the record for its current lot, and every certificate also sits in one searchable library.

  • Lot number, purity, content and test date on the product page
  • The full PDF certificate opens in a viewer without leaving the page
  • Search the library by compound or by the lot number on the vial
  • Lot links open the library on that exact lot, ready for a QR code on the label

03 Facts, not claims

Product pages written as specification sheets

Every line is chemistry, testing or handling a researcher can check against the certificate. This is the BPC-157 page. Select a marker to see what each part of the page does.

Classification Synthetic peptide, 15 amino acids

Identifiers CAS 137525-51-0, C62H98N16O22, 1419.54 Da

Purity 98% or higher by RP-HPLC, identity by LC-MS

Form White to off white lyophilised powder

Tabs Specification, Storage and handling, FAQ

BPC-157 product page: quantity discount box, lot testing record, trust tiles and the specification tabs

  • Quantity discountTier rows for 1, 5 and 10 or more vials at 0, 5 and 10% off. The unit price and total update as the quantity changes.
  • Lot testing recordThe current lot with its purity, content and test date, and a button that opens the certificate.
  • Trust tilesResearch use only, a certificate with every lot and third party testing, stated once beside the buy button.
  • Specification tabsSpecification, Storage and handling and FAQ sit beside the description, so the facts stay out of the sales copy.

Custom development on WordPress and WooCommerce

Nine features we coded for this store, and 19 CSS snippets that restyle WordPress and WooCommerce to match the design.

Coded features

Built for this store

Custom code written for this store on top of WordPress and WooCommerce.

  • Researcher gate, COA library search, certificate viewer and quantity discount box
Custom JavaScript. The four features shown in How we solved it, above.
  • Research account sign up
Custom JavaScript, AJAX sign up. Creates the account without leaving the page and records the researcher type and organisation. The gate hands straight to it.
  • First order offer
Custom JavaScript. Opens a few seconds after the gate with a 5% first order code, emailed once the account is created. Registered researchers never see it again.
  • Product tabs
Custom PHP on WooCommerce. The tabs are filled from each product's own fields, so every product page follows the same order.
  • Cookie consent
Custom JavaScript with Google Consent Mode. A consent banner that remembers the choice for a year and tells Google tags which storage they may use.
  • Category slider
Custom JavaScript. Arrows and dots for the homepage category slider and the notes slider, where the active dot stretches into a pill.

Styled with CSS

Matched to the design

Where WordPress and WooCommerce pages were restyled to look like the rest of the store.

  • Product page
Custom CSS on WooCommerce. Cards with a darker border, a full width blue Add to Cart, a quantity stepper and a compact lot pill with its label and code.
  • Cart and checkout
Custom CSS on WooCommerce and the payment gateway. A research use notice under the cart table, a trust strip beside the totals, and Cash App and Venmo shown as payment tiles with a QR panel after the order.
  • Journal
Custom CSS on WordPress. Articles with a reading progress bar, numbered section headings and source pills on cited claims, with the author line hidden.
  • Header and catalogue
Custom CSS on WordPress. A centred menu, a hamburger, logo and cart layout on phones, and category cards that stay three across on tablets.
  • Policies
Custom CSS on WordPress. Terms of Sale, Refund, Compliance Overview, Research Use and Privacy policies with a contents list and numbered sections.
  • Plugins we set up
Configured, not coded: the payment gateway, Forminator for the contact form and Google Site Kit.

Questions about the Iron Rack Labs build

Who built the Iron Rack Labs website?

Iron Rack Labs was designed and built by Aventus Digital on WordPress and WooCommerce, including the catalogue structure, the researcher gate and account sign up, the lot certificate library, the product specification tabs and the checkout styling. See more of our peptide website work.

Is the Iron Rack Labs website FDA compliant?

No website can be FDA approved or FDA compliant on its own, whatever a listing promises. What we build is research use only positioning: a researcher gate, specification style product pages with no health claims, a certificate for every lot and a research use confirmation at checkout. We are a web agency, not a law firm, so the store owner stays responsible for regulatory compliance and should take independent legal advice.

How much does a peptide store like this cost?

Our e-commerce stores start from £399, with a mid-tier option at £599. A full custom build like Iron Rack Labs, with a researcher gate, a searchable COA library and specification product pages, falls into our Flagship tier from £1,999. Full details are on our pricing page.

Can you build a store like this for the UK market?

Yes. Iron Rack Labs sells in the US, but we are a UK agency and adapt every build to its market. For UK stores, that means product language shaped around MHRA and ASA/CAP rules rather than FDA wording, plus guidance on payment processors that accept research peptide sellers.
